The Management Read: How Modern Is Your Management?

Management practices tend to arrive with the title. The meeting cadence, the review form, and the unwritten rules about who decides what come bundled with the role, and they stay in place until someone examines the conditions that produced them. The Management Read is that examination, compressed into ten workplace scenarios and about three minutes.

Answer for an ordinary workday, which is rarely your best one. Your result places your management in one of four states: Inherited, Responsive, Literate, or Designed. Each one reflects the four dimensions The Modern Manager Method is built on: the conditions you work inside, the pattern you lead from, the load you carry, and the practices you have designed.

Where your read leads

Your result names the state your management is in, and The Modern Manager Method shows you how to change it. The Workbook opens with the Diagnostic: the Leadership Pattern Assessment, which is included, and the Condition Audit, which maps the system you lead inside. From there, the frameworks turn what you’ve read into practices that hold.

Become a Founding Promethean

The Modern Manager Membership includes the Workbook, the Leadership Patterns Field Guide, and frameworks for succession planning, exits, and career care. It also comes with unlimited assessment retakes, new tools each quarter, and 20% off future cohorts and workshops. Founding enrollment closes December 31 at $299 a year, and your rate stays locked for as long as you’re a member.

For the team you lead

If your read raised questions about the team around you, The Modern Manager Method also runs as a workshop scoped to your organization, and companies can sponsor memberships for their managers.
